LOVE CYCLING AND ALL THINGS BIKES? YOU'RE IN GOOD COMPANY...

The Hautes Pyrénées is a cyclist’s dream destination. Home to the highest paved roads in the French Pyrénées, as well as countless miles of beautiful valley roads and secluded rolling hills. Featured as one of the stops on both the Downhill and Enduro World Cup, the area also boasts some of the best mountain biking trails in France. We’ve spent countless hours exploring the region on two wheels and love sharing routes and tips that will maximise your time here on the bike.

CYCLING PACKAGES

Join us for an unforgettable escape of cycling indulgence. Conquer as many cols or meandering valley miles as you wish, soak up the views from the pool and feast on cycle specific meals, specifically formulated to maximise your recovery and energy levels.

The Procrastination Station

Our passion for cycling has driven us to create a space dedicated to the sport and, of course, the precious equipment it necessitates. A space to immerse yourself in cycling and indulge in a little harmless procrastination/planning/coffee drinking before the day ahead. Spacious "bike beds" for your special someone, dedicated shoe & helmet storage spaces, charging zones for all of the essential cyclectronics means everything is at hand when prepping for a ride. The space is the perfect zone for pre ride coffees and post ride beers. Breakfasts and dinners (for the cycling packages) usually take place here or in one of the dedicated outside dining spaces. An abundance of tools and a bike stand are on hand for that moment of tinkering, to ensure your bike is running like a dream.

Local climbs

Many keen cyclists will know the Col Du Tourmalet or the Col d'Aspin, which feature frequently in our rides from the farmhouse. But this area has so many more incredible and often lesser known climbs to experience, like the long, testing and remote Porte de Balés, the peaceful Cap Néstes, the incredibly beautiful Lac de Cap de Long, the brutally steep Col de Beyréde and some smaller climbs like the Col de Palomiérés and Col De Coupe. We love to share our experiences of these climbs and suggest routes that can vary greatly, depending on what a cyclist wants to get out of a ride. But it's not all about going uphill. We have great access to some flatter routes on some of the quietest, yet most well kept roads we have ridden in Europe.

Don't disregard winter!

Cycling in Winter can be an incredible experience here in the Hautes Pyrénées. Many of the cols are open year round, including several over 1500m of elevation. Riding these roads in the crisp cool air of Winter with even less traffic than usual, surrounded by snow capped mountains, often with snow on the roadside, can be a surreal experience. Don't forget, as this is our off season, Winter rental of the gîtes have lower rates than other times of the year. Follow us on Instagram for updates on Winter col conditions and to see alerts of upcoming Winter warm weather windows! It's not uncommon to have several consecutive days over 20 degrees, mid winter.
