FUEL Vs FLAVOUR

Some primarily see food as fuel. Others may see it as chance to indulge in delicious flavours and textures. At Pause Pedal Pyrénées we have a strong desire to merge these two beliefs, without compromising on either one. Inspired by the recent progression in nutritional science and the high level of cheffing in today’s professional cycling world, we are passionate about creating delicious food that is optimised to promote good recovery and maximise efficient energy intake. Allowing you to best prepare for whatever adventure is next. We put considerable effort into researching the best foods, ingredients and methods to make this passion a reality.

Breakfast

An extensive continental breakfast, of cereals, yoghurt, milk, local bread & pastries, teas and, of course, coffee. In addition to this for the cycling packages, there are a couple of our favourites, overnight oats and Tamagoyaki (Japanese Omelette).

Dinner

We have a number of 3 course options available to your group when you join us for a cycling escape. We give you these options ahead of time and your group can agree on one choice per night. Example options below: Vegetable, prawn and chicken gyozas - A selection of Thai Curries (number of options depending on group size), rice, noodles - Mille fueille Local cheese and bread platter - Garbure des Pyrénées - Tourte des Pyrénées Bruscetta - Crispy bacon risotto & Caprese Salad - Panna Cotta

The sanctity of coffee

As is the case with many cyclists, we are a bit fanatical about coffee. We don't enjoy the flavour of burnt milk, we're not a fan of UHT and we aren't big on putting whipped cream in a cappuccino! Sourcing our coffee from local roaster "Café Pelizarri" we offer countless coffee options in our space for all things cycling and eating "The Procrastination Station."

Beer & wine

We carefully source local and regional wine to complement the dishes we serve. A genreous selection of beer is available, some local, and some unique craft beers from further afield. We put particular emphasis on offering a good range of 0% alcohol options.

Sourcing local

Produce is sourced locally as frequently as possible, including yoghurt and cheese from "La Fromagerie du Plateau" coffee from "Cafés Pellizzari" and beers from "La Brasserie du Pays Toy."
